What causes of Strep Throat?
Strep throat is caused by bacteria. The condition is common with young kids but can be contracted by adults of all ages too. Infection starts when bacteria enters the eyes, nose, or mouth after exposure, which can then be transferred by respiratory droplets airborne. Strep throat is contagious and can spread easily.
What are the symptoms of Strep throat?
- sore throat
- fever
- red and swollen tonsils
- painful or swollen lymph nodes
If left untreated, other symptoms may appear after three days:
- red and white patches in the throat
- trouble swallowing
- a headache
- lower stomach pain
- general discomfort, uneasiness, or ill feeling
- loss of appetite
- nausea
- rash
